Old vessel at the cutting edge of technology

This week our Patron Lynette Silver AM, MBE and Neil Silver represented the Foundation at the official launch of the ARIAM Hub five year research project in Sydney.

This is a significant milestone for the ship and Foundation, with the MV Cape Don becoming the test facility vessel for a five year research project into Artificial intelligence (AI) Robotics.

From the ARIAM Website: "We are the Australian Robotic Inspection and Asset Management Hub (ARIAM), an Australian Research Council (ARC) Research hub hosted by the University of Sydney and in partnership with the Queensland University of Technology and The Australian National University.

ARIAM aims to transform how assets and infrastructure are managed by developing intelligent robotic systems with new capabilities for inspection, monitoring, maintenance, and optimisation". https://ariamhub.com/about-us/

Over the coming five years, the Sea Heritage Foundation, in partnership with the ARIAM Hub and its various partners, will help shape the future of how we create efficiency and cost-saving solutions for defence and the civilian marine sector.

What an inspiring project to be a part of. Our 1960s technology ship working hand in hand with state-of-the-art AI.

Thank you to Andrew Seal and Marc Hartmann from Thales for their work ongoing support.
